Yesterday (my first day of classes) was incredibly long, overwhelming, stressful........ Somehow I managed to get through it (though not without freaking out and making the serious mistake of thinking too far into the future--I must remember to not do that).
So far everyone in my classes (pretty much the same group of people in every one) and everyone at the residence are very cool. One of the girls at the residence, Liz, is a vegan and since I'm a vegetarian (for those who don't know, those are different but similar: Liz doesn't eat/use any animal products whatsoever, but I'll happily chow down on some scrambled eggs, given half the chance and am addicted to Burt's Bees lip balm) we plan to do some cooking together some time.
In my drawing class all but one of the students (Luk--I'm guessing that's an alternate spelling of Luke) are women so we've joked about forming a band called Luk and the Fresh Women (because we're all freshmen). Good thing I took violin lessons for eight years!
This week is Orientation Week at UNB and since I'm staying at a UNB residence I can go to any of the events. Tonight's is an ice cream social, which is starting right now--so I should get my butt down to the lounge RIGHT NOW!!
Have a great semester.
ReplyDeletei hope you don't have any 8am classes!
